Struck from 15.50 grams of 22-carat gold, this highly desirable Royal Mint release was created in collaboration with Natural History Museum palaeobiologist Professor Adrian Lister, with artwork by palaeo-artist Robert Nicholls. Underpinned by exquisite Proof quality, the coin honours Mammuthus trogontherii – one of the largest beasts to exist during the Pleistocene Epoch. Known as the steppe mammoth, this enormous herbivore had an average shoulder height of 4 metres and an average weight of 10 tonnes!
