Issued in the final days of the predecimal era, the short-lived 2/3d Commemorative Stamp Series was released only from 1962 to 1965. Provoked by a rise in airmail rates from 2/- to 2/3d, only six types were ever printed.
Airmail was little used in Australia, with the consequence that relatively few 2/3d stamps were ever issued. The low numbers printed – the rarest had a print run of just 995,440 – makes it particularly difficult to compile a complete set in premium condition. This is your chance.
Offered in strictly Mint Unhinged quality, we have all six stamps from the short-lived 2/3d commemorative stamp series available. As a bonus, we’ve also included five stamps that were issued to commemorate the same events as some of the 2/3d stamps!
